Doc Ray has the foundation cow horse breeding right there on both the top and bottom sides of his pedigree. His colts are great performance prospects.  The fillies are in great demand for broodmares.  Doc Ray O Lena's maternal sire is Rey Jay, 5th leading NCHA broodmare sire in history with only 62 daughters.  He is also the Maternal Grandsire of Colonel Freckles, Freckles Playboy, Freckles Hustler, Rey Jay Doc, CJ Sugar, etc.  Buster Welch, who rode Rey Jay to some great wins said, "I thought Rey Jay was one of the greatest horses that ever looked through a bridle."  Doc Ray O Lena's two and three year olds in training are very cowy, easy to train, and show a lot of ability.  He is passing on the great genetics of Doc O'Lena and Rey Jay.
